The Maidenhead and District Chamber of Commerce endorse the Airports Commission’s decision to expand Heathrow as the best option for the local, regional and national economy. The Chamber believes expansion at Heathrow offers the best connectivity option whilst adhering to government carbon and air quality targets. Aircraft noise will also be comparatively lower and Britain will retain it’s place offering the world’s most connected airport hub.
Olu Odeniyi, President of the Chamber, remarked “A new runway at Heathrow will add to the benefits Crossrail will bring and significantly lift Maidenhead’s economic prospects. The economic case clearly stacks up and the Chamber will do all it can to ensure local businesses of all sizes are aware of the opportunities. I now hope the government will act decisively on the results of three years extensive consultation”
